Do you ever swing off center?

Going with the flow is great…

It can allow you to have some magical experiences.

A few years ago my friend and I drove my breaking down Miata convertible across the South East to a bluegrass and arts festival to see my favorite meditation teacher and the man I was (and still am) in love with.

We pulled into the parking lot a few minutes before the meditation was scheduled to begin – and my car went up in smoke.

I made sure that the car wasn’t going to explode and ran to the meditation tent.

After a fabulous meditation I opened my eyes and my man was sitting right across from me.

We had an amazing weekend going with the flow – dancing, laughing, and falling more in love.

When it was time to go home my car had been repaired by a friend of a friend and all was good.

However, sometimes going with the flow takes you way off point.

Recently I have had a few people ask me if they could work with me… even though they don’t have eating disorders.

The questions left me a little bit heartbroken – but I understand the confusion.

I am passionate about eating disorder awareness, prevention and spreading the message that full recovery is possible. I do a great deal of philanthropy in this area and have gratefully received press about it. I went with the flow.

Just as I believe that your present and your future do not have to be defined by your past or your diagnosis – I do not define my business that way.

I work with people who are ready to write their own futures. My students are ready to create lives informed and inspired by their pasts, but in no way defined by them.

Sometimes experience with eating disorders or addiction is a part of the past, sometimes not.

All of my students refuse to settle for a certain level of happy.

They are ready to really move forward in big ways and are looking for practical guidance that is both uplifting and grounded in yogic philosophy and practice.

Body image is a focus of my work because it is a huge focus for just about everyone that has a body.

How often do we focus on diet, weight, exercise or food instead of digging deep and looking at what is really bothering us?

It is important to me to help all of my students figure out how to focus on the real issues in a way that doesn’t dig up the past, but ignites the future.

I create the space for them to get brave, get out of their heads, and look at the dreams in their hearts. Then, we work together to take inspired action and make it happen!

I hope that you go with the flow in ways that lead to amazing adventures and find ways to get back on point if you find yourself flowing downstream in a weird way.
