It Is Time To Choose

It is time to choose…

Are you going to let things stay the same or are you ready to take the leap into the rest of your life?

Every big moment of choice in my life was proceeded by many moments of feeling terrified, unsettled, alone in a powerless way, alone in a take the lead kind of way, and consumed in an ever shifting mix of anger, sadness, joy, euphoria, hope and wonder.

I tend to be a leap off the edge before I get pushed off the cliff kind of person.

I understand that to not act is to act.

To avoid making a choice and taking action accordingly is choosing to allow things to remain the same.

Sometimes I have taken leaps of faith and flown to heights more amazing than I could have predicted.

A few times I took leaps of faith that left me picking myself up, dusting myself off and nursing my wounds after tumbling out of the sky.

In every case it was the most right choice.

The lessons from the flights and the falls make up who I am and how I see the world. I am grateful for them all.

I hope that you can take a moment today to sit with whatever you are struggling with and tune into yourself. Your heart may have already made a choice.

When tuning in let go of your plans and reasons and logical expectations.

Let go fear and become comfortable with uncertainty.

Get okay with not knowing if your wings will work.

Sometimes the leap of faith you need to take is huge – like leaving a relationship (or saying yes to a larger commitment) or investing in a new start up or moving to a new city where you don’t know anyone.

Sometimes the leap of faith is subtle – like deciding to listen to your partner with a newly open heart and mind or finally watching Forks Over Knives even though you have a sneaking feeling that you will want to go vegetarian afterwards and you really love having bacon for breakfast on the weekends.

What choice are you facing?

What are you waiting for?
